Rocky Linux a new CentOS alternative

A few days ago Red Hat announced changes in CentOS. Here is the result. Rocky Linux (https://bit.ly/2KqWVd2).

CentOS is a binary compatible build of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Unfortunately, Red Hat (currently owned by IBM) decided to stop the releases of CentOS Linux as a build of RHEL source code and will release only Red Hat Stream, which is upstream of RHEL.

A community around CentOS was not happy with this and leads Gregory Kurtzer, the original founder of CentOS, to announce a new distribution which should be a replacement for CentOS as we have known it for years.

We wish both CentOS and Rocky Linux successful life.

On the other side. If you don’t want to use upstream CentOS and Red Hat Linux seems to you a bit expensive, there is an alternative. It is called Euro Linux.
